A practice built around you, not a class designed for everyone.

You have tried the generic class. The studio sequence that almost fits, the YouTube video that almost answers it, the advice that almost lands. Private yoga therapy is different. It begins with your body, your history, and your nervous system, and it builds from there.

I am a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) with a clinical lens and a deep respect for what your body has already survived. I provide a therapeutic relationship for the person that is ready to arrive fully in themselves.

Who This Is For

Living with back pain. Your spine holds more than posture. It holds the architecture of how you move through your days. I work with the structural and nervous system patterns underneath chronic back pain, not just the symptom on the surface.

Recovering from injury, the PT-life-integration way. I have rehabilitated my own hip flexor and shoulder injuries through this exact work. I know what it feels like to return to a body that does not yet trust itself, and I know how to build that trust back, one session at a time.

Men who carry their strength as armor. I have spent nearly ten years married to a high-achieving man, and I helped him resolve sciatica pain that nothing else touched. He went on to complete a full Ironman triathlon. I understand the bodies of men who push hard and rarely ask for help, and I know how to meet that without asking them to become someone else.

The eldest daughter, literal or symbolic. Boundaries. Self-trust. The radical, unfamiliar practice of receiving instead of only giving. If you have spent your life holding everyone else together, this work begins with finally turning that same attention toward yourself.

Seniors seeking grace, not strain. Chair yoga and gentle, accessible movement designed for aging well and staying deeply connected to your own body, at whatever pace your life calls for now.

Immigrant and refugee communities. I was born in a refugee camp in the Philippines to Vietnamese parents. Intergenerational trauma is not theoretical to me. It lives in the body, and I know how to work with it there, gently and without forcing a story you are not ready to tell.

Executive leaders and entrepreneurs. High performance and being "on" all the time can lead to burnout. This is a space where you do not have to perform. By slowing down, you will receive clarity to lead more effectively.

Francophone clients. Je parle français et je connais bien la culture francophone. Sessions can be held partially or fully in French if that is where you feel most at home.

Anyone navigating dating and relationships. Every relationship you will ever have is shaped by the relationship you have with yourself first. This work strengthens that foundation, so what you bring to others comes from steadiness, not depletion.

Why Packages, Not Just Single Sessions

Yoga therapy is not a quick fix. It follows an arc: we begin by understanding what is happening in your body and nervous system, we stabilize what is reactive or unsafe, and then we integrate new patterns until they become simply how you move through the world. A single session can offer relief. A package builds a practice that holds.

"Your Selfcare is World Peace" - Laurie Hang, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500

What is Yoga Therapy?

A Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) is credentialed through the International Association of Yoga Therapists, the professional organization that establishes educational standards and certifies yoga therapists internationally.

Becoming a yoga therapist requires extensive specialized education beyond yoga teacher training, including in depth study of anatomy, physiology, pathology, mental health, therapeutic application, professional ethics, and individualized client assessment.

Depending on the person and their goals, a session may include therapeutic movement designed specifically for their body's current capacity, breathing practices that influence the autonomic nervous system, guided meditation, body awareness exercises, or discussions that help make sense of patterns they've noticed in their lives.

Sometimes we explore concepts from yogic philosophy that offer language for experiences people have carried for years without being able to describe them.

Sometimes the most meaningful practice is learning to notice subtle sensations in the body instead of immediately trying to change them.

In a culture that constantly encourages us to do more, learning to simply notice what is happening inside ourselves can be one of the most challenging and transformative practices of all.

***Please note that Yoga Therapy is not a replacement for medical care. We do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe treatments, or practice medicine under another name. When something falls outside my scope of practice, I refer clients back to the appropriate healthcare professional.

-Nancy L.

Thank you for being such a gracious host and heartfelt leader. The Yoga in Nature was fabulous, even if I could not do all of the poses. No pressure, from anyone, just allowing peace. Laurie, You are an honest and empowering leader. I am so happy I was there. More to come…. I do hope you join one of my events as well in the future.

-Terese P.

What stayed with me most was the feeling of being supported by other women in such a genuine and grounded way. It was inspiring to witness strong, capable women in mutual support, openly sharing their stories and holding space for one another. It left me feeling more connected and reminded of the power of women uplifting other women in community with each other

-Megan M.

Knowing there is a group of women (and sanctuary) I can go to when I need to open up / share my thought or struggle. It feels good that as woman, we lift each other up and share tips in a safe setting so we can recharge when battery is low .

A Note on Accessibility

I know the economy is asking a lot of people right now, and I do not want cost to be the only reason this work is out of reach for someone who needs it.

If the investment feels like a barrier but you feel called to this practice, reach out. I hold a small number of flexible arrangements each season, including trade, and I would rather have the conversation than have you not ask.
